Guess Who..?

A business is only as good as it's team; from the top of the chain down. When you hear our staff say that they work with an amazing team, they are not lying. Maybe you have met some of the partners, maybe you haven't (don't worry team I won't spill too many secrets!!), but without a doubt you have met our front line staff! This post is to get you acquainted with the partners and managers of Bayfield Brewing Co., so without further ado here they are with the worst facebook pictures I could find- disclaimer- some of these photos may or may not include filters and serious editing!!!!!

Ryan Keys- Founder/President and Brew Master

Ryan started this company because, well because he's always wanted to! He didn't wake up one day and say "I think I should brew beer and open a brewery and pub", no; he's been wanting this for a long time. Ryan grew up on a farm in Varna with his Mom Peggy, his Dad Ron (Captain Ronny as some of you know him) and his brother Adam (check below for his story!). Ryan still currently farms with his Dad and Brother and also owns Keys Cutting Edge Cabinetry (yes he builds gorgeous kitchens)! If you ever wondered why our Canadian Pale Ale is called the Cabinet Maker, wonder no further!! Ryan has a daughter named Everly who one day will take over the Brew Master title, unless being Princess is an option!!

Sarah Keys- Founder/CEO

Sarah is not only a partner in Bayfield Brewing Co., she also owns the Spotted Cow in Bayfield and Stiletto Photography (she is without a doubt one of the best wedding photographers around, we swear we aren't biased!!). When Ryan told Sarah about his dream of owning a brewery she jumped in with both feet along side of him. Her family had been in the restaurant business when she was younger and thought adding a pub would be a great addition to Ryan's goals, and the Bayfield Brewing Co's Public House was born!! Good thing too as the Thai Chicken Won Ton Nachos are to die for!!! Sarah is mom to Everly, who loves tractors, cows and everything pink!

Adam Keys - Partner and IT, Kelly-Ann Keys- Partner/Operations

Adam and Kelly-Ann came on board in 2018 when Ryan pitched them a deal they couldn't refuse. Adam's amazing talents in IT gave him the job as head of the 1 man IT department!! Adam creates the labels for all of our brews and those great social media posts that you see with moving parts, ya that's him too!

Kelly-Ann spreads her expertise to whatever area of the business that needs it. During COVID19 she quickly jumped in with both feet and hands and learned the job of a prep cook, delivery driver, shipper, and receiver.! She isn't afraid to learn new aspects of the business and helps keep the team moving in the right direction (with so many boys it can be easy for them to veer off course in meetings!!) Kelly-Ann brings a great deal of business smarts to the team and is an asset to both the brewery and pub!

Ron Keys ( AKA Captain Ronny)- Accountant and Head of Sales

If you live in Bluewater Municipality you likely know this man! His love for craft beer, in specific IPA's earned his place to have our IPA named after him- yup our Captain Ronny IPA! Ron has farmed in Varna for, well lets just say many years and continues to do so to this day. He also has a love for numbers (yuck math!) and after retirement was recruited to be the head accountant! This means he gets to say what we get to spend money on and how much we get to spend, and not naming any names, but some of us don't truly enjoy this part of him!! Just kidding! Ron also leads the sales team, working extremely hard to grow the business and put our brand in pubs and restaurants throughout Ontario! Ron also helps out in the tap room and the dish pit when absolutely needed (although there are times when I think he might rather buy new dishes than run the dish pit!!).

Tanya McNicol- General Manager

Tanya started with us as a server in 2019. She quickly fell in love with the business and jumped at an opportunity to join the team in a more permanent way. Her background in Occupational Health & Safety mixed with many years of restaurant experience made her a great addition to the team. There is not a part of the business that Tanya doesn't get involved in, recently with the COVID19 pandemic she has learned the position of prep-cook, line cook, sales, shipping, receiving, inventory and everything else! Her main focus is on marketing, branding, sales and the pub's front of house team, but she has ideas for it all!

Favourite Beer- I love the Brewer's Punch made with our CPA and Vodka

Favorite Menu Item- 3 way tie: Thai Chicken Won Ton Nachos/Hayter's Turkey Burger/BBC Public House Burger (made with Huron County Texas long horn meat)
